Even when you’ve reached a new chapter, you’ll still find yourself back in your own foundational muck. A fable isn’t a fairy tale. The Meat Puppets' Curt and Cris Kirkwood even joined the band onstage, one of the night's quietly historic moments. Spinning this on vinyl only deepens the intimacy of a set that was already uncomfortably close to the bone.

Vinyl LP pressing of this live release from the Grunge heroes. Recorded in November 1993, less than six months before singer Kurt Cobain killed himself, Nirvana's MTV Unplugged is a watershed document that presents a band at the peak of its powers. Unlike any other unplugged affair, the diverse album is not a simple stripped-down regurgitation of greatest hits or a cash-it-in set of nostalgic favorites. Rather, the live effort is among the most emotionally naked spectacles ever released an album so starkly intense and profoundly personal, it's impossible not to get chills down the spine. The set list is as surprising as the stylistic makeover. Save for renditions of 'All Apologies' and 'Come As You Are', the adventurous material includes brooding covers of the Meat Puppets' 'Lake of Fire', 'Plateau', and 'Oh Me' as well as harrowing versions of David Bowie's 'The Man Who Sold the World', and the Vaselines' 'Jesus Don't Want Me for a Sunbeam'.

Tracklist

Side A

1. Rain Dance

2. Low Era

3. Fantasies / Survival

4. First World Warrior

5. Disco

Side B

1. Projector

2. Exploding House

3. Bottle

4. Opportunity Is Knocking

UPC: 5400863056582
Label: Partisan Records
Release Date: 12.3.21
Format: LP Vinyl

Details

Label: Partisan Records (PTPS05LP); Play It Again Sam (PTPS05LP) · Released: 2021 · Country: Europe

Tracklist

A1 Rain Dance

A2 Low Era

A3 Fantasies / Survival

A4 First World Warrior

A5 Disco

B1 Projector

B2 Exploding House

B3 Bottle

B4 Opportunity Is Knocking

Credits

Piotr Lapinski – Artwork

Landon Yost – Cover

Jamie-James Medina – Design

Matt de Jong – Design

Björn Wolfram – Lacquer Cut By

Stefan Tenner (2) – Lacquer Cut By

Bernie Grundman – Mastered By

Dan Carey – Mixed By

Cameron Winter – Musician (Geese)

Dominic DiGesu – Musician (Geese)

Foster Hudson – Musician (Geese)

Gus Green – Musician (Geese)

Max Bassin – Musician (Geese)

Geese (11) – Written-By, Producer, Recorded By

Recorded at a converted gymnasium in Louisville, Circuital found Jim James and company leaning into cavernous acoustics and communal energy, a process that shaped the album's spacious, hymn-like quality. It turns out that wasn’t a flipside to the recordings of Projector, but foreshadowing that there was more to the story. Knowing they were now beyond teenage basement experiments and were instead making something for an audience who would hear it, Geese felt emboldened. “When we were writing Projector it was about narrowing the scope, trying to do more with less,” Gus Green says. “When we started writing for 3D Country we were trying to do a lot more and seeing what worked and what didn’t.” At the same time, they’re well aware of how significant a departure they’ve made. “As music listeners, we all appreciate bands who change over time, and are comfortable with risk,” Cameron Winter adds. Eddie Vedder's songwriting here is among his most inward and searching, and the band's willingness to stretch into quieter, stranger territory set this record apart from the anthemic punch of their earlier catalog.

Limited double vinyl LP pressing including gatefold jacket. Riot Act is the seventh studio album by Pearl Jam, released on November 12, 2002 through Epic Records. Following a full-scale tour in support of it's previous album, Binaural (2000), Pearl Jam took a year-long break. The band then reconvened in the beginning of 2002 and commenced work on a new album. The music on the record featured a diverse sound, including songs influenced by folk, art rock, and experimental rock. The lyrics deal with mortality and existentialism, with much influence from both the political climate after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the accidental death of nine fans during Pearl Jam's performance at the 2000 Roskilde Festival.

Tracklist

Side A

1. Can't Keep (3:39)

2. Save You (3:50)

3. Love Boat Captain (4:36)

Side B

1. Cropduster (3:51)

2. Ghost (3:15)

3. I Am Mine (3:35)

4. Thumbing My Way (4:10)

Side C

1. You Are (4:30)

2. Get Right (2:38)

3. Green Disease (2:41)

4. Help Help (3:35)

Side D

1. Bu$hleaguer (3:57)

2. 1/2 Full (4:10)

3. Arc (1:05)

4. All Or None (4:37)

UPC: 889854091316
Label: Epic
Release Date: 11.10.17
Format: LP Vinyl

Details

Label: Epic (88985409131); It won Album of the Year at the 2011 Grammy Awards, Best International Album at the 2011 BRIT Awards, Album of the Year at the 2011 Juno Awards, and the 2011 Polaris Music Prize for best Canadian album. Patrol – Eyes Open (Gold 2-LP Vinyl)

Eyes Open arrived in 2006 and quietly rewired what rock radio sounded like for the better part of a decade, with "Chasing Cars" becoming one of the most-played songs in BBC Radio 2 history. Gary Lightbody and company built anthems that felt genuinely earned rather than engineered, which is why they still land so hard live. Two decades on, the B-sides and rarities collected here finally give the full picture of where the band's head was during one of their most creatively fertile stretches.

20 Year Anniversary Special Edition of Snow Patrol’s era-defining album, Eyes Open, pressed on cream color vinyl and available exclusively at indie retailers. Originally the UK’s biggest album of 2006 and certified 8x platinum, the record features the iconic “Chasing Cars,” alongside 5 other hit singles. This expanded 2-LP edition includes all seven B-sides from the era, plus the standalone hit “Signal Fire,” as well as rare fan-favorites and the previously unreleased “Perfect Little Secret.” Original design agency Big Active were commissioned to breathe new life into the original, iconic artwork, and the band’s frontman Gary Lightbody has penned new sleeve notes for the package offering fresh George van den Broek announced himself to the world with a confidence that stopped critics cold. This colored vinyl pressing adds a bonus track to the original seven-song run, making it the definitive physical edition of a debut that launched one of British independent music's most compelling young voices.

Harmless Melodies is the debut EP by British singer-songwriter Yellow Days, released in November 2016 on the Good Years Music label. At the time, George van den Broek was just 17 years old, and the record marked his first major introduction to the music world. HighClouds+1The EP's sound blends soulful, introspective vocals with lo-fi production and influences drawn from jazz, blues, and classic soul, creating moody, evocative tracks that feel both timeless and contemporary. It's seven tracks - including the standout "Your Hand Holding Mine" - feature reflective lyrics about love, heartbreak and everyday life, set against laid-back guitar, organ-tinged riffs, and thoughtful vocal delivery that belies his youth. HighClouds+1Critically, Harmless Melodies was praised as a breakout debut; reviewers highlighted his mature voice and unique style, with some outlets rating it highly (e. g. , 9/10) and noting that it felt like a cohesive musical journey rather than just a collection of songs. Fans and reviewers alike found it soulful, introspective and refreshingly authentic, especially impressive from a teenager still developing his craft.
