horatio-luna-action-reaction-lp-vinyl
Horatio Luna – Action Reaction

Melbourne's jazz underground has long rewarded patience, and Horatio Luna has been one of its most quietly ambitious figures. Action Reaction documents three years of lived experience across the city's recording spaces, arriving at a sound that feels both deeply personal and outward-facing. The voicemail fragments scattered through the record ground the compositions in real time, real relationships, real Melbourne.

Six years on from his La Sape debut, Horatio Luna is back. Recorded across two Melbourne studios between 2022 and 2025, Nick Herrera's in Coburg and Drew Parsons' in South Melbourne, it catalogs experiences in composition and in living. Voicemail messages from these years surface throughout, fragments of a scene mid-pulse.Warmer and more luminous than Horatio's back catalog, 'Action Reaction' trades the darker textures of 'Yes Doctor' for crystalline synths and funk-driven compositions. Horns feature more prominently than ever before and several pieces revisit earlier material, seen in new light - a thread Horatio intends to keep pulling across his career.

UPC: 5050580869868
Label: La Sape
Release Date: 8.14.26
Format: LP Vinyl

Tracklist

Side A

1. CALL ME BACK (INTERLUDE)

2. SPICY

3. MALAKIES

4. DOUBLE SLAY

5. THE WIN

6. MOONSHINE (INTERLUDE)

7. SWEET PAPRIKA (TAKE 2)

Side B

1. MYSTIC BOUNCE

2. ON-LY SWINGS (INTERLUDE)

3. PORTO BANGA

4. RECTIFY (TRIBUTE TO MOODYMANN)

5. HIP CONNECTIONS (TAKE 2)

6. HABIBI (TAKE 2)

7. SLEEPY BYES (INTERLUDE)

Details

Label: La Sape Records (SAPE035) · Released: 2026 · Country: Australia

Tracklist

A1 CALL ME BACK (INTERLUDE)

A2 SPICY

A3 MALAKIES

A4 DOUBLE SLAY

A5 THE WIN

A6 MOONSHINE (INTERLUDE)

A7 SWEET PAPRIKA (TAKE 2)

B1 MYSTIC BOUNCE

B2 ON-LY SWINGS (INTERLUDE)

B3 PORTO BANGA

B4 RECTIFY (TRIBUTE TO MOODYMANN)

B5 HIP CONNECTIONS (TAKE 2)

B6 HABIBI (TAKE 2)

B7 SLEEPY BYES (INTERLUDE)
