Throughout the rest of his career, he continued to show his deep affinity for country music. 1965's Country and Western Meets Rhythm and Blues (aka Together Again) features Ray's timeless version of the Buck Owens country standard "Together Again." It also holds the distinction of being the first album Charles recorded in his own RPM International recording studio. While on 1996's Crying Time album Ray delivers the definitive version of that Owens song and earned Ray the GRAMMY for Best Rhythm & Blues Solo Vocal Performance Male and recognition as Producer of Best Rhythm & Blues Recording by The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. As if that weren't enough, the album also boasts Charles #1 Billboard smash "Let's Go Get Stoned."

Tracklist

Side A

1. Together Again (2:36)

2. I Like To Hear It Sometime (2:50)

3. I've Got A Tiger By The Tail (Swingova) (2:10)

4. Please Forgive And Forget (From Motion Picture 'Ballad I Blue') (3:46)

5. I Don't Care (2:14)

6. Next Door To The Blues (2:50)

Side B

1. Blue Moon Of Kentucky (Swingova) (2:10)

2. Light Out Of Darkness (3:23)

3. Maybe It's Nothing At All (3:08)

4. All Night Long (3:01)

5. Don't Let Her Know (2:31)

6. Watch It Baby (2:45)

UPC: 708857224210
Label: Tangerine Records
Release Date: 10.18.24
Format: LP Vinyl

Details

Label: ABC-Paramount (ABC 520, ABC-520) · Released: 1965 · Country: US

Tracklist

A1 Together Again

A2 I Like To Hear It Sometime

A3 I've Got A Tiger By The Tail (Swingova)

A4 Please Forgive And Forget

A5 I Don't Care

A6 Next Door To The Blues

B1 Blue Moon Of Kentucky (Swingova)

B2 Light Out Of Darkness

B3 Maybe It's Nothing At All

B4 All Night Long

B5 Don't Let Her Know

B6 Watch It Baby

Credits

Raelets – Accompanied By (With)

The Jack Halloran Singers – Accompanied By (With)

ARW Productions, Inc. – Design (Cover)

Joe Lebow – Design (Liner)

Bones Howe – Engineer

Rudy Hill (2) – Engineer

Sam Feldman – Lacquer Cut By

Howard Morehead – Photography By (Cover)

https://reserveselects.myshopify.com/products/ray-charles-country-and-western-meets-rhythm-and-blues-lp-vinyl
