Will Graefe moves in similar circles, his guitar vocabulary rooted in space and restraint. Stripped to two instruments and recorded with an intimacy that rewards close listening, I Envy Light is the kind of record that reveals something new on every play.

Will and Spencer have been orbiting each other musically for the past decade. The in-demand session musicians record with many of the industry's biggest artists. Having found their musical identities in NYC, Graefe and Zahn have played on countless albums and released many as solo artists. I Envy Light is a conversation between Will and Spencer, exploring their love of forward thinking melody, harmony, and sound. Though the album is acoustic guitar and fretless bass, their instruments merge.

Tracklist

Side A

1. Dune (3:06)

2. I Envy Light (1:55)

3. Brushes for Brushes (3:30)

4. Grapefruit Tree (2:18)

5. Block Island (2:30)

6. Onigiri at 711 (2:38)

Side B

1. Before After Before After (2:49)

2. Alegre (2:54)

3. Sea as Sky (2:19)

4. Cute Dog in Space Pls (3:08)

5. After You've Left (4:09)

6. Does a Stream Have a Name (3:22)

UPC: 619165204736
Label: Cascine
Release Date: 7.10.26
Format: LP Vinyl

Details

Label: Sudden Quarterly (SQ001) · Released: 2026 · Country: US

Tracklist

A1 Dune – 3:06

A2 I Envy Light – 1:55

A3 Brushes for Brushes – 3:30

A4 Grapefruit Tree – 2:18

A5 Block Island – 2:30

A6 Onigiri at 711 – 2:38

B1 Before After Before After – 2:49

B2 Alegre – 2:54

B3 Sea as Sky – 2:19

B4 Cute Dog in Space Pls – 3:08

B5 After You've Left – 4:09

B6 Does a Stream Have a Name – 3:22

Credits

Will Graefe – 12-String Acoustic Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

Ben Wilkerson Tousley – Design

Spencer Zahn (2) – Fretless Bass

Jack Doutt – Mastered By

Spencer Zahn (2) – Producer, Mixed By, Engineer
