The intergenerational dialogue here, with veterans like Coleman and Williams meeting a drummer barely old enough to drive, says everything about how quickly the jazz community recognized what she would become.

Vinyl LP pressing. Carrington's very first session, TLC & Friends features an epic and enviable lineup of collaborators, including Kenny Barron on piano, George Coleman on saxophone, and Buster Williams on bass.
