The group had largely been dormant for decades, making this late-career document something the jazz world didn't know it needed until it arrived.

Led by the legendary pianist and composer Chick Corea - the venerated 27-time Grammy winner and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master - The Elektric Band stormed onto the jazz scene in the mid-1980s, making an immediate and lasting impact on the genre. With their electrifying performances and innovative blend of jazz fusion, the group produced a series of albums that set the bar for excellence in contemporary jazz. Featuring a core lineup of virtuosic musicians - John Patitucci on bass, Dave Weckl on drums, Eric Marienthal on saxophone and Frank Gambale on guitar - the group created a dynamic and electrifying sound that came to define the jazz fusion style. Their collective musicianship was on full display on each album, as they seamlessly blended complex compositions with captivating improvisations.

Tracklist

Side A

1. Charged Particles

2. Trance Dance

Side B

1. C.T.A.

Side C

1. Jocelyn - The Commander

2. Beneath The Mask

Side D

1. Ished

2. Alan Corday

Side E

1. Johhny's Landing

Side F

1. Got A Match?

UPC: 708857330010
Label: Candid
Release Date: 11.3.23
Format: LP Vinyl

Details

Label: Candid (CLP 33001) · Released: 2023 · Country: UK & Europe

Tracklist

A1 Charged Particles

A2 Trance Dance

B1 C.T.A.

C1 Jocelyn - The Commander

C2 Beneath The Mask

D1 Ished

D2 Alan Corday

E1 Johhny's Landing

F1 Got A Match?

Credits

John Patitucci – Bass

Dave Weckl – Drums, Co-producer, Recorded By, Mixed By

Jordin Jaz Pinkus – Executive Producer, Project Manager

Marc Bessant – Graphic Design

Frank Gambale – Guitar

Bernie Grundman – Lacquer Cut By

Bernie Grundman – Mastered By

Dan Muse – Photography By

Toshihiro Sakurai – Photography By

Chick Corea – Piano, Synthesizer, Producer

Bernie Kirsh – Producer, Recorded By, Mixed By

Kirby Jones – Project Manager

Eric Marienthal – Saxophone

Kris Campbell – Tour Manager

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0998/4609/5166/files/packshot-chick-corea-future-is-now-deluxe-gate-lp-vinyl-vinyl-lp-relix.jpg?v=1791075486
https://reserveselects.myshopify.com/products/the-chick-corea-elektric-band-the-future-is-now-3-lp-vinyl
